of Conway, AR
April 12, 1958 - October 28, 2024
David Eugene Wiedower, 66, departed this life on October 28, 2024, leaving a hole in the hearts of his many family and friends. Dave was born April 12,1958 in Conway, Arkansas, the fourth son of James H. Wiedower, Jr. and Freda Glover Wiedower. A lifelong resident of Conway, Dave participated with his brothers in Hendrix Aquakids, spent many summer evenings at the YBMA baseball fields with his family and friends, graduated from Conway High School and attended the University of Central Arkansas, where he was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Following in his father's footsteps as a licensed tradesman, Dave was a Journeyman plumber and most recently a loyal employee of Rush-Hal Properties. For years, he served as a plumbing apprentice instructor for the Conway Area Career Center. He was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church.
To know Dave was to know his warmth and his smile. He was happiest surrounded by friends and enjoying Razorbacks sports, the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR and the Texas Motor Speedway. Gatherings with his large and loving family and crawfish boils with his Pike brothers were cherished traditions for Dave.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, with whom he shared a close relationship throughout his life.
He was devoted to and is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kimberly Patterson Wiedower, and children Buddy Williams (Amy) and Rachel Caravello (Colt); and his grandchildren - to whom he was "Dude" - Riley Hawkins, Cameron Young, Jr. and Wyatt Caravello; Jacob and Bianca Haddox, Kaylee Sullivan and Charleigh Williams. He leaves behind his loyal Yorkie companion, Thor.
Dave is also survived by his three brothers and their families, Bill (Julie, Beth and Jenny), Jim (Rebekah, John, Reed and Rosalynn) and Dick (Janssen and Madi); as well as his aunts and uncles Betty and Floyd Wiedower, Donna and Ben Wiedower and Dot Glover; and cousins Steve, Brian, Kenny, Amy, Christie, Brooks, Ronny, Johnny and Jerry, and their families.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway at 10 am, with a Celebration of Life at 11 am. Memorials may be sent to the American Red Cross at redcross.org/donate/memorial-donations.html/
Dave and I played little league baseball together for Colonial Bread. He was the clean up batter and catcher. We graduated high school together and sleep overs in the barn were always great fun. Dave always had a smile, was kind and always asked about family. A good man in every way.
