Thomas Boyd IV, 82, of Jonesboro, AR was called home on Monday, October 28, 2024 at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro, AR. He was born on August 30, 1942 in Springfield, MA to Thomas Boyd III and Henrietta (Ungersma) Boyd. Thomas received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Drury College in Springfield, MO, where he was a proud member of the Beta Iota Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity (Initiated in 1962). He spent his entire working career as a manufacturing manager until his retirement. He was proud of his work with Alcoholics Anonymous, where he served as Treasurer of the local chapter, Treasurer of Recovery, Inc. and General Services Representative of the local chapter, spending more than 23 years with them.
He had a passion for gardening, woodworking and old Ford Model T cars. He loved sharing the fruits of his garden with family and friends. He built some amazing pieces of furniture and some great cars through the years. He cherished his grandchildren so much. They called him ''Papa''. Always bringing them their favorite candy bar when we had him over for Sunday dinner or building hand-crafted toys.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Boyd and brother, David Carson.
Those left to cherish the memories of Thomas are his sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas Boyd V of Springdale, AR, Wendy Boyd of Bentonville, AR (Mark-deceased), Matthew (Felicia) Boyd of Searcy, AR and Ryan (Jacqueline) Boyd of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren, Tyler Stratton, Gavin Boyd, Jayde Stratton, Willow Stratton, Christopher (Ebony) Melder, William Stokes, Reese Helton, Savannah Boyd, Mary Manuel and Elizabeth Boyd; brother, Steven Boyd (Joyce Duncan); his children's mother, Maxine Ann Boyd of Springdale, AR and many family, friends and loved ones.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, visitation at 2 pm and memorial service at 3 pm at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401.
