Tenaya Whitman

of Midway, AR

March 8, 1972 - October 30, 2024

Mrs. Tenaya Whitman, 52, of Midway, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born on March 8, 1972 in San Bernardino, California to Susan Howie. She married Gerald Whitman in 1990. She was a one-of-a-kind free spirit with the heart of a child who didn't like to be tied down. Most of all, though she was a loving wife, mother of eight and grandmother of many more who kept her very busy, this didn't stop her from other endeavors. She could do anything she put her mind to, from her singing and art projects, to her craft and repurposing projects. She did it all with passion and zeal.

Tenaya is survived by her husband; five sons, Alan, Eric, Adam, Cory and Sean; three daughters, Misty, Amanda and Angela; 21 grandchildren; two brothers, Tommy and Jerry and two sisters, Misty and Fancie. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Aunt Tenaya, you are going to be so missed. I remember whenever you would come over to our house, you would draw anything we asked you to just to entertain us! No matter how much we asked you to, you did it with joy ! You are so valuable, and you made an impact on each one of our lives. You will be missed dearly, I love you !

To her entire family I give you my most deepest condolences and I’m holding you in my prayers.
Tenaya was so sweet to me and when she would come down to visit we would always have a great time talking about God and her sister, my best friend, Fancie. I would always thank her for loving Fancie and the girls so much. She would then respond by saying that she was thankful that Fancie had me. If only she knew, that I’m the one that is extremely blessed. On another note, I have to admit, I was extremely jealous, yet grateful of her handyman and craftsmanship skills and I will always cherish the cross that sits on my porch that was made by Tenaya. I’m so sad that I’ll no longer see you here on earth, but I’ll see you up in heaven.

Hey Tenaya, I don’t know where to start. I have nothing but good things to say about you. You’re the oldest of the grandchildren and definitely the most loved. I remember growing up thinking you were such an angel and so talented and there was nothing you couldn’t do. Aunt Susie always talked about you grandma Lucy always talked about you. Being around you was never a dull moment. You always made everyone laugh so hard we would pee. Whenever I would think of Arkansas you always popped in my mind. Girl, you’re going to be missed so much. This last time you came out to help my mom with her house you were a life saver since my dad passing she was a little lost and you came and helped. I am so happy that my kids had the pleasure of meeting their big cousin and knowing that you brought a tremendous light in our lives. I love you and will miss you. Say hi to all our loved ones in heaven. Love you!

To my Nina, you will be so missed ! You definitely left a print on our lives that will never be forgotten. One specific memory of you always makes me smile when I see dandelions ! When me, my mom & sisters were in Arkansas you were very hands on spending time with us& took us to some flower fields & were teaching us to make wishes by blowing dandelions, well I couldn’t blow them lol so you encouraged me that those with asthma can get multiple chances & it still works ! That’s a highlight of the spirit you carried, you always seen the best in everything and cared deeply about everyone around you. Love you so much! Heaven is so lucky to have gained such a beautiful angel.

You were so loved and you were the best aunt. I loved when you used to draw for us your creativity made every moment so fun and special. I will always remember in the 5th grade when you spent time with me thinking of some ideas of a project I had to create for school and with your talent you brought our idea to life and we completed the project togetherYou will be deeply missed, and your memory will always be cherished
