Eddie and I were good friends at MTSU. So sorry to hear of his passing. We both lived in an old house in downtown Murfreesboro that had three bedrooms upstairs. An older couple, the Hastings, lived downstairs. We were both accounting majors. Almost every morning we ate breakfast at a little restaurant on the town square in Murfreesboro. At one point we even brought bicycles from home and rode them in to class, which was about five miles. I remember a small white car that he had that was spotless. I had never seen anybody clean tires on a car so throughly! I was talking to my wife today about an accounting teacher I had and thought immediately of Eddie. We studied accounting many nights together and he just got the stuff and the teachers really liked him. I just thought some of those smarts would rub off on me. The last time I saw Eddie was in Kingsport when he worked there. I was doing an audit there when I worked for Arthur Anderson. I called Eddie and he invited me out for dinner. We had a very pleasant evening. That was about 1970 or so. I am just sorry that we lost touch with each other. I remember Eddie as just a terrific person! So, rest in peace my friend!

So sorry to hear of this great man’s passing. He was the kindest man around. He just came in for haircut in Desha not too long ago. I always loved hearing his stories between him and my daddy Sheldon Thorne. They worked together for years. And he was our duplex neighbor in appt my parents lived in when I was born. I have know this man for 47 years and I never once seen him not smiling and he never forgot my name and who i was exactly prayers for

My very first supervisor at Eastman way back in 1979. Some of my fondest memories of working there was the time I spent with Ed. Man we had fun! And the times we’ve seen each other since have added frosting on the cake. I’m sad but also know he is in a much better place. Praying for you Phyllis and your family. God is good, and he will see you through this very difficult time.
