of Maumelle, AR

February 6, 1940 - October 24, 2024

Ralph George Olsen II was born on February 6, 1940 to Alfred and Mable (Neilsen) Olsen.
He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith in 1956.

Ralph grew up in Easton, Connecticut. He attended Fairfield Prep in Connecticut and graduated high school in 1957.
He married the love of his life, Joan Ann (Peipher) on June 16, 1962 and they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Ralph attended Fairfield University in Connecticut and graduated with a Mathematics Degree in 1962, five days after his marriage to Joan Ann. Later in life, he would go on to become an Actuary.

Ralph was a sports fan; football was his favorite one to watch on tv.
He played basketball on different church leagues.
Ralph also enjoyed jogging, reading and gardening.
He was a master gardener, grew vegetables, fig trees and you could say he had a green thumb.
Ralph's favorite pastime was playing golf with friends and family.

Ralph passed away on October 24, 2024 at Briarwood Nursing & Rehabilitation in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was 84 years old.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Joan Ann Olsen; four children, Buddy (Shawn) Olsen III, Wendy Coleman, Chris (Michael Bolin) Olsen and Craig (Shannon) Olsen; six grandchildren, Brandon (Rebecca) Olsen, Connor (Juli) Olsen, Chase (Madeline) Coleman, Kelley Coleman, Anniston Ross and Grace Olsen and three great-grandchildren, Kayden Murray, Cooper Coleman and Asher Olsen.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, John Coleman and great-grandson, Kendall Murray.

A graveside service for Ralph Olsen II will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:45 am at the Riverwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Shawn Found officiating.

we pray, yet we firmly believe, that Ralph is well received into Jesus presents and we rejoice at Ralph's assumption, which was well earned by Ralph's conduct and spiritual strength.
Live in his grace evermore ! we will miss the great friend that you are.

It was a blessing growing up in West Hartford, CT, a wonderful place to be a kid in the 70s. Having the Olaen family as neighbors and friends was a highlight of my childhood. My Dad and Ralph shared a birthday. And although they left CT when I was 12, I was lucky to visit the Olsen's in Georgia and they were wonderful hosts. I am so sorry for your loss
