Lloyd J Hershberger, 87, of Mountain View, Arkansas departed this life at his home on October 18, 2024. He was born in Kempsville, Virginia in 1936 to Jacob J and Matilda (Yoder) Hershberger.
In 1959, Lloyd moved to Norristown, Pennsylvania for a two year term in the 1W Service. On June 17, 1959 he married his sweetheart, Joyce M. Miller. After finishing his term of service, the couple moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia where they began their family of two sons and three daughters. Lloyd and his family also lived in Abbeville, South Carolina and Royston, Georgia before moving to Mountain View in 1978. Lloyd was hardworking and faithful at providing for his family in many ways including, dairy farming, construction, raising broiler chickens, hogs and cattle. He also owned a floor covering business for many years. After retirement, he operated a small recycling business at his home for a few years. Lloyd also was very good at raising a big patch of sweet corn every summer which was very much enjoyed by family, friends and neighbors. Lloyd was a member of Richwoods Mennonite Church where he faithfully taught, prayed, sang and served until his physical body no longer allowed. He also was a member of The Gideons International where he served alongside his brothers in Christ for many years.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry Hershberger and Paul Hershberger; three sisters: Mary Swartzentruber, Annie Miller, and Ruth Hershberger; three brothers in law: Norman Swartzentruber, Elvin Miller, and Lester Nisley; sister-in-law, Anna Hershberger; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Yoder.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Joyce Miller Hershberger; two sons, Dale (Jeanne) Hershberger and Dwayne (Cindy) Hershberger; three daughters, Gloria (Delbert) Wagler, Glenda Hershberger and Melody Thomas; two brothers, Joe (Rosie) Hershberger and Jacob (Sara) Hershberger; one sister, Edna Nisley; one sister-in-law, Martha Hershberger and a special nephew, Stan (Joyce) O'Bannon. Also surviving are his eighteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held at Richwoods Mennonite Church, Mountain View, Arkansas, Sunday, October 20, 2024, 4:00PM 6:00PM. Funeral services was held at School Avenue Church of Christ, Mountain View, Arkansas, Monday, October 21, 2024, 10:00 AM. Officiating Brother Elmer Gingerich, Brother Stan O'Bannon and Brother Dale Hershberger
Pallbearers are Jeremy Hershberger, Darren Hershberger, Morgan Hershberger, Lloyd Hershberger, Logan Hershberger, Cody Wagler. Honorary Pallbearers are Lonnie Hershberger, Ty Hershberger and Lee Wagler.
We, the family, wish to express our sincere appreciation for all your love and support during our time of loss. Thank you for your prayers, meals, flowers and all other expressions of concern. We appreciate each of you for coming and investing in our lives during the passing of our husband, father and grandfather. May God abundantly bless each of you.

Lloyd was a wonderful man and will be missed by all who ever knew him. My prayers and condolences go out to all his family and friends.
Prayers for this family as they walk thru this season. We have wonderful memories of him coming into the store for sweet treats! Always so kind! He laid carpet for us as we worked on the cabins and most of the tin we used was from his chicken houses! Just a good man.
I am sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Hershberger. I wish I could have known him & his family. I have many fond memories of guests coming from your congregation to our Mennonite Church at Bethel Springs. Prayers for comfort.

We're so sorry for your loss. Mr. Lloyd was a wonderful Christian man and a long time friend. He helped us several times with our floor coverings. He always had a smile and a uplifting word to share with us. Prayers for his family
Lloyd and I have been friends and neighbors for over 50 years. He was a very smart and wise man.He gave me a lot of good advice and we had some very good conversations. He knew the Bible better than anyone I know.
