Jerry Wayne Judd Sr.

of Marshall, AR

March 21, 1944 - October 15, 2024

Jerry Wayne Judd Sr., age 80, of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 at his home. He was born in Bakersfield, California on March 21st, 1944 to Nathan Meredith Judd and Lura Tennessee Horn Judd. Jerry was born the oldest of three boys, with one older sister, Josephine, who had her hands full with Jerry. Throughout his travels, Jerry met and took in marriage the loving and dedicated Jennylea Foth. They shared 48 years together before her passing in 2023. To this union were three plus two, making them a family.

Jerry began his working career as a young boy in the potato sheds or out in the field picking produce. He took over driving his mother around, having to stand to see where he was going. Jerry was a hard working man, often having 2 or 3 jobs at the same time. He worked at an oil refinery in California as a crane operator, as a heavy equipment operator on the Snowball Road to Witts Springs in the 70's, produce manager and proud store owner of his parent's dream of Judd's market in Juddville and working on the S.C. and VBC line of Welcome Home. He retired as a real estate broker. Jerry had a high school education but his hard work helped him excel in all he set out to accomplish. He made moves back and forth from Bakersfield to Arkansas, but Tilly, Arkansas always felt like home. His grandparents, John and Oma Horn were there and lived in the house he had been raised up in. Jerry married young and raised three children that he loved and took pride in. He and Jennylea loved being grandparents and great-grandparents. They enjoyed being a part of all the activities the grands participated in. Jerry's family adored him, counted on him and looked to him for answers and help. He may have seemed rough around the edges but he was known as friend to many. He was loved as a brother in Christ. He recently asked his surgeon if he was a ''Believer''. He was able to touch all he came in contact with during the last few months. He thanked each one and cared for them.

Survivors include his children, Jerry Wayne Judd Jr. (Corinna) of Marshall, Kelly Jean Judd of Bakersfield, CA and Jana LaGay Judd of Marshall; grandchildren, April Cash of Harrison, Amber (Matt) Edie of Branson, Michael (Amy) Myrick of Bentonville, Katie Judd of Marshall, Ashely (Tony) Horton of Marshall, Alison (Brandon) Witt of Alread and Kevin Kelly (Stormy) Small of Marshall; great-grandchildren, Kelli, Judd, Jase, Waylon, Coy Wayne, Sunny, Kayden, Gavin, Kylie, Alexis, Luke, Noah and Kohl and brothers, Gary Don Judd (Diane) of Marshall and Nathan Leroy Judd (Wendy) of Bakersfield, CA.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Lura Judd; his devoted wife, Jennylea Judd and sister, Josephine Ledford.

Graveside services for Jerry will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 18th, 2024 at Union Hill Cemetery near Tilly with Bro. Roy Ragland officiating. Special music will be performed by Ashely Horton, Alison Witt and Kim Treat. Burial will follow the graveside service. Bearers will be Kevin Small, Kelly Small, Matt Sowash, Dennin Battershell, Brandon Witt, Robert Herter, Judd Horton and Tony Horton.
