Melody June Scott

of Marianna, AR

January 19, 1945 - October 13, 2024

Melody June Husley Scott, 79, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on January 19, 1945, to Clarence Jackson and Mary Dotson Jackson in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
She is survived by four children, Richard Thompson, Raymond Thompson, Jack Thompson, Tracy Brown, two siblings, Clarese Jackson, and Steven Jackson, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Lisa Helmick.
She was a very independent and creative woman. She loved working in the garden or yard. She loved animals. If mom loved you, she loved you blood doesn't make you family, love does. She loved the Lord, and she loved being our momma, grandma Mel, and GiGi. She 's multitalented woman and went by many names but ultimately loved by all. She was fiercely independent and outgoing and after 57 taught herself how to drive a motorcycle. She loved the outdoors and to camp. She had a green thumb. But most of all she loved being a grandma. She retired after 25 years at Safeway, then retired after 30 years from Glad. She was also a two-time world Champion (Demolition).
She requested for no services. She just asked you to remember her the way you did. Cremation is under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas. Family & friends may view and sign online guestbook at rollerfuneralhomes.com/Marianna.

Words fail me.
Heart goes out to the family.
She did a glass etching for me on a car window. Always interesting.

I loved Melody. She would call me and ask if she could do something for the church. I knew of something that she could do I would tell her and I can tell you it was seen to completion. She loved her family and church family.
We will miss her at Church so bad. Prayers for peace and comfort for you all. May God wrap his arms of comfort around you!
Love you all,
