Betty S. Hames Johnson, 89, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
She was born May 16, 1935 in Franklin, Arkansas to Vernon Hames and Mae Felton Hames.
Betty was of the Baptist faith. She worked for over 30 years at White Rodgers for Emerson Electric. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Betty loved to go out to eat and sweets were her biggest weakness. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and going to auctions.
Survivors include her two sons, Dicky Johnson (Robin) of Beebe, Chris Johnson (Mary Jo) of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Nina Jackson (Kirk) of Maumelle, Joy Lacy (Courtney) of Batesville; brother, Harlin Hames; nine grandchildren, Laddie Hunter, Amanda Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Joe Allan Johnson, Blake Johnson, Elizabeth Mickle, Laura-Leigh Moser and Wade Moore; numerous great-grandchildren; special care giver, Ashley Mae Jones and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loyd Lonnie ''Jim Dick'' Johnson; one grandson, Stewart Kyle Moore and brother, Conway Hames.
Pallbearers are Laddie Hunter, Joe Allan Johnson, Wade Moore, Blake Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Zachary Johnson.
Graveside services will begin at 11:00am Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Reeves Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Chase Dunkin and Leonard Tharp officiating.
