of Jonesboro, AR
October 8, 1975 - October 3, 2024
Melissa Ann Miller of Jonesboro, AR, known to her family and friends as Missy, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at St. Bernards Hospital at the age of 48 years. She was born October 8, 1975 in Fredericktown, MO to Bobby Dean and Phyllis (Johnson) Wooten. Missy was a survivor, a warrior, someone who never took no for an answer, immersed herself in helping others and always believed and knew, ''God's got this''. Missy was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a meme and a friend.
Before becoming a mental health and recovery advocate she worked many years as a pharmacy tech all over Jonesboro. Missy was a really big believer in everyone. Not only did she give hope to those trying to be better, she gave hope to the families of those trying to be better. When she wasn't advocating for recovery and mental health, she loved more than anything spending time with her grand girls and great nephew as well as the long list of bonus kids she had. It was a rarity to see her without the company of a kiddo. Proving her title of survivor and warrior, in 2013 she started her battle with LCCC/SCCC (cervical cancer) and won. From her experience and victory with this rare aggressive cancer, she gained her sisters in hope. She loved them all as family and looked forward to her Vegas trip with them every year.
Missy was preceded in death by her father, Bob Wooten.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Missy include her mother, Phyllis Wooten; two sons, Dylan Miller and Dayton (Kinsey) Miller; three precious grandchildren, Addison Miller, Isabella Spangler and Mellie Lynn Miller; a brother, Kevin (Pam) Wooten; two sisters, Sonya (Mark) Cole and Kasey (Frank) Travis; nieces and nephews, Tyler (Morgan) Cole, Ashlyne (Brandon) Carner and Hunter (Mandi) Travis; great nieces and nephews, Jason Moore, Beau Travis, Gaven Carner, Izabel Carner, Ben and Braden Hall, Isaiah and Kobe Hall; mother in law, Louise Miller and many bonus sisters.
Funeral services will be 10 am on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Melissa Bryant and Jen Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Monette Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.
