Tommy Gary Gatlin

of Little Rock, AR

March 2, 1953 - September 25, 2024

Tommy Gary Gatlin of Little Rock left this world much too soon with his family by his side on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Gary was born on March 2, 1953 to Tommy and Myrt Gatlin. He attended McClellan High School and started his life long career of over 45 years as an ironworker. In 1995, Gary met the love of his life, Kim. After traveling for years together, they decided to settle down and move back to Gary's hometown in Little Rock, where they built their dream home and spent their days making memories with their children and grandchildren.

Gary enjoyed hunting with his boys, fishing, watching sports, building things, collecting NASCAR, water skiing, betting on horses, playing black jack, eating breakfast food for dinner, watching a good western and listening to country music. And of course, everyone that went to Gary's fridge knew better than to take his last Mountain Dew!

But more than anything, Gary loved spending time at his property in Norman, AR, that he referred to as ''God's Country''. He could do amazing things behind the wheel of his big red tractor. He told the best stories. The ones that not only were funny, but also taught us a lesson or two.

Gary was loved by many. He was a good man, dedicated father and loyal friend. He had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone and everyone. He made many special memories with all his friends and family and they will be cherished forever. He will always hold a special place in all of our hearts.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Myrt and Tommy Gatlin; sister, Vanda Johnson and mother-in-law, Nancy Schultz. He is survived by the love of his life, Kim Felker and four children, LeAnne Nugent (Brandon), Kimberly Gatlin (Timmy), Brock Sempsrott (Anna) and Coltan Gatlin (Kenli); ten grandchildren, Alyssa, Jace, Adyn, Maddie, Jaxxon, Sophia, Paisley, Phoebe, Lincoln & Jaylee; father-in-law, Tim Felker; three brother-in-laws, Doug Johnson, Dan Felker (Pam), Roger Felker (Melinda); one sister-in-law, Britney Wermer; lifelong friends, Rick Bruck (April) and Tony Mattingly (Joy) and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.

Please join everyone who loved Gary on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 1pm for a Celebration of His Life at the Roller Drummond Funeral Home off Interstate 30 in SW Little Rock. 10900 I-30, Little Rock, AR 72209.
A private burial service for family will be held at ''God's Country'' on Sunday.

Gary was a great guy and always good to work with. Any conversation you had with Gary would typically turn into deer hunting story or with what he was doing to get ready for deer season. He will be missed by all, prayers for the family.

I have lots of great memories of Gary, mostly days at the lake. He could ski like no one else I'd ever seen. Towards me I never saw anything but a smile. He will be missed I know he was a good man.

Gary was a true friend. He would absolutely help you if you were in need. He could be a little rough around the edges but had a heart of gold. His youngest son said he was a Superman. That couldn’t have been said any better. Gary had a relationship with God and I know he is in Heaven with his mom and dad and many friends in his life. When it’s my time to go to Heaven, I know my friend will be there waiting for me. My God bless his sole
