So sorry to hear about Charlie; he lived a long and good life. I’ve known Fairy Ann all of my life, andCharlie most of my life. They were a wonderful couple and a definite asset to the community.I really got to know Charlie when we sat together at the University of Memphis football games. He shared many laughs and experiences about when he played football at U of M …which made the games much more enjoyable.Even though I haven’t seen Charlie in many years, I have thought often about both Fairy Ann and him, and they are all good memories.
I am so very sorry about Mr. Charlie. He fought a hard battle and I hate that he went through this. He was such a strong presence and always kind. We talked about life in general when he came to Methodist. He said that he had always felt like Superman and the events that were occurring showed him that he was absolutely not Superman. I remember saying, you will always be Superman Charlie to all of those who love you and look up to you. God bless each of you! We will continue to pray for your family.
I am so sorry for your loss. I haven’t seen Charles in years but I think of him often. We played together as kids, had the opportunity to watch him play football at Bay High school. His dad, Uncle Lovie was my barber. Many good memories May God give you peace

Fairy Ann and the children from your union. You all have been in our prayers and thoughts these last days. I offer my sincere sympathy as you all celebrate your husband's life. As a member of our church, Charlie just was not with us long enough to really get to know him and appreciate his being with us. My heart felt feelings are with all of you.

Fairy Ann, I am so sorry about your great loss of your precious husband. I know it is very hard for you and your family--I went through that a year and one-half ago with my precious husband, Mac. If I can do anything for you, please do not hesitate to give me a call. Frances Ann has my phone number, and I am here ready to help you whenever you need me.
