Mickey Harris Tate, age 79, of Melbourne, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. He was born on November 3, 1944, in Melbourne, Arkansas to Eldous and Clara (Twilley) Tate. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sarah Morehead and June Hamilton, and brothers, Billy Tate and Donald Tate.

Mickey was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed his family, hunting, and working in his garden. He was the most loving and caring man when it came to his family and friends.

Mickey is survived by his daughter, Rachel Hickman of Harrison, six grandchildren and their spouses, Cody and Matt Shreve, of Hot Springs, Brittney and Jacob Creamer of Harrison, Sephanie Shreve, Emma Shreve and her fiancé, Micah Hickman, Jr., and Avary Hickman of Harrison. He is also survived by five great-grand-children, Baylee Creamer, Karson Creamer, Albert Munyon VI, Sadie Maye Munyon, and Della Wethern all of Harrison, three brothers, Delmo and (Leveda) Tate, Rayburn, and (Janie) Tate and Greg and (Reba) Tate all of Melbourne, Arkansas and friends that will miss him dearly.


The visitation was on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, before the service.

The funeral service was on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, Melbourne, Arkansas with Reverend Rick Burke officiating.

Interment was at Reeves Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Cody Shreve, Jacob Creamer, Micah Hickman, Jr., Kevin Tate, Donnie Tate, and Cecil Morehead.

Honorary pallbearers were Delmo Tate, Greg Tate, and Rayburn Tate.

The family would like to thank the nurses at the Springs of Mount Vista, Stephanie, CNA Thomas, and Emily of Legacy Hospice.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas, and the First Baptist Church of Melbourne, Arkansas.

Condolences to the family and friends. Uncle Mickey was a good man. He took me fishing at all the farm ponds when I was a kid and was always very kind to me.
Rachel, Greg, Delmo and Raybourne, everyone, so sorry for your loss. I can't be there for the funeral, but you all will be in our prayers. God bless with peace and comfort.

Your Dad was a very special brother in law to me. He brought me some orange lilies one year for our anniversary and planted them in my flower bed before he told me about them. That was in Jan. I didn't see them until they came up in the spring. That was over 30 years ago. I am reminded every spring when they bloom again!
Yall have many good memories of him also. Hang on to them. There will never be a other Mick!
