Jimmy Jackson, 81, of Des Arc, Arkansas passed away peacefully Thursday, September 19, 2024. He was born May 26, 1943 to Patrick Jackson and Jessie Oxner in Aubrey, Arkansas.
He is survived by one son, Brian Jackson and one daughter, Amanda Minton both of Des Arc, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jacob Minton (Emily), Katie Minton, Dylan Straub (Carlie), Samantha Minton, Kailey Jackson and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Ricky Oxner and two sisters, Sue Hislip both of Rondo, Arkansas and Betty McClendon of Marianna, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, J.W. Oxner; one son, Brent Jackson; five brothers, Norris Oxner, George Oxner, Carl Oxner, Pete Oxner and Randy Oxner and two sisters, Connie Turley and Mary Swan.
Mr. Jackson retired from Douglas & Lomason Factory. He was a member of Rondo Baptist Church. He loved to watch westerns, work in the garden and loved to joke. He was in the United States Army. He really enjoyed his time in Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation Center being ''Dr. J'' and pestering everyone who would cross his path. His kids and grandchildren brought big smiles to his face, he always enjoyed spending time with them.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will follow services at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
