I served in the Army.

Walter G. Carlson, JrI am a Veteran.

of Midway, AR

December 24, 1946 - September 15, 2024

Walter went to be with his Lord, September 15, 2024 at Baxter Health in Mountain Home, AR. He was born on December 24, 1946 to Walter G Carlson Sr and Evelyn Schwalge Carlson.

Wally was a proud Veteran and honorably discharged from the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He married Mary Ann Buggar on March 22, 1975. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage and love. They were Blessed with two Sons, Sean (Sarah) of Germantown, TN and Eric of Brighton, TN. They were his life. He enjoyed teaching his boys how to hunt, fish and shoot. He leaves three of the most beautiful Grandchildren, Campbell, Madelyn and Colton. He was known as ''Pop'' and he was the only one that could make amazing cheeseburgers and awesome waffles.

He has one brother, Cliff (Janet) of Wheaton, IL and a host of nieces and nephews who he loved as his own. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Eli Wayne Carlson.

We would like to acknowledge ''Pop's Mafia''. The Hensley Behavioral Health team was absolutely amazing with our Wally. You knew that he was loved because they became his family and we were the visitors. Thank you seems so inadequate for the love shown to him and Mary by this wonderful group.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 am at The Bridge Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Hershel Conley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gail's Pets Second Chance, 310 Co Rd 119, Oakland, AR 72661 or Humane Society of North Central Arkansas Thrift Store, 2656 AR-201, Mountain Home, AR 72653

My heart goes out to Mary, Sean, Eric and family for your heartbreaking loss. We all have great memories of living on Elmore Rd. with Wally. It was a great time to be a kid. As long as the garage door was up, I knew I could come over and see what Wally was working on in his shop. Thanks for the memories and teaching me how to punch a speed bag. Much love to the Carlsons from the Martin family.

We love you Momma “C” and Poppa “C” was such a good man, and we loved him too. So sorry for your loss, but we will celebrate his life, knowing that he is in heaven, celebrating life, and someday when it is your time, u will get to celebrate life with him! God has a plan for each and every one of us, and I know his plan for you and Poppa “C”, is not over. We love you so much and if you need anything at all, we will be there for you! We’re so sorry, thoughts and prayers can’t explain how much we truly miss Wally. Him driving around the neighborhood on his 4 wheeler “his yellow corvette” to eating his fabulous ribs. Pops will be truly missed and we’re right next door when you need us. God needed Wally and it’s not for us to question why. We love you momma c!!!!!

Our sincere condolences to you, Mary and your sons and their families. We will always remember the fun times we had relaxing at Bull Shoals St. Park with our RV's, out out to dinner escapades and how could we forget Wally's hardy laughs and "amusing" stories! We will miss him.
