Espy Daugherty, 78, of Mountain View passed away on September 13, 2024 at his home with his loved ones by his side. He was born February 7, 1946 in Stearns, Kentucky to Ernest and Laura (Slaven) Daugherty.
Espy was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He and his brother, James, had a couple of businesses (James Liquor and R & R Grocery) in Big Flat, AR. He worked with his brother-in-law, Randy, as a carpenter. He enjoyed tinkering with items to see if he could repair or make something work again. During family gatherings, you would find him tending to his beloved dogs, Star and Lady. He was of a man of few words, but his smile would light up a room. Espy had the biggest heart and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones.
Espy is survived by his spouse of thirty years, Emma (Williams) Daugherty; sons, Larry Dale Pitts and Michael (Sonya) Pitts; grand-children, Lacey Pitts, Johnathon (Candace) Pitts, Samantha (Andy) Brown, Matthew (Meagan) Pitts, Michael Jay (Danielle) Pitts and Tanner (Kassidy) Pitts; sisters, Maxine (Benford) Smith and Faye Lawrence and twelve great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Laura (Slaven) Daugherty; brother, James Daugherty; great grandson, Jaxson Matthew Pitts and his beloved dogs, Star and Lady.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 16th at 2 pm at Big Flat Cemetery in Big Flat, Arkansas with Brother Bryan Wilkie officiating.
Pallbearers are Johnathon Pitts, Matthew Pitts, Michael Jay Pitts, Tanner Pitts and Andy Brown.

So sorry to hear about Espy passing away. I worked with him years ago and he married my best friend, Emma Williams.

Sorry to hear of Mr. Epsy's death. I first met him at R and R when I stopped in to get a pop. He was tinkering with some tool trying to get it to run right. He always greeted people with a big grin. He bragged about his grandkids . I pray that God grants his family comfort as they remember him and how much he lived them.
