of Little Rock, AR
February 18, 1951 - September 4, 2024
Cheryl Lowe Kitchens, passed away on September 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
A woman, who experienced enough adventure to fill two lifetimes, has started her greatest and final adventure of all.
Cheryl started her adventures in Memphis, Tennessee on February 18, 1951. Born to George and Margie Lowe and sister to Betty, Kathy and George. As a young girl, Cheryl found the Lord at church camp and lived her life dedicated to him.
A few years later, at the age of 15, she would start her love story, when she met a cute, dark haired, basketball player, with great legs. Andy and Cheryl quickly fell in love and got married when they were 19. They had a love that was so strong and beautiful, it left a mark on anyone that was around them and a marriage to be admired and strived for. A deep love and romance that was so intense, it could be felt up until her last breath.
Cheryl and Andy started their next adventure with the birth of their four sons, Jason, Micheal, Kevin and Brandon. The boys were her pride and joy and there could not have been a better mother to them. She matched their energy and strength and would never turn down a chance to show them that she could do anything they could do and maybe even better.
Cheryl passed her zest of life and adventure onto her boys, who have the greatest memories made up of travel, camping, snow skiing, water sports and tennis, just to name a few. Cheryl's spirit is rooted deep in all her boys and her legacy will live on through them. Cheryl balanced her time being a mother to four rowdy boys, playing lots of tennis and helping Andy run his dental practice, with the help of a lot of icy cold Diet Dr. Peppers.
Her sons would help her start her next adventure of being a mother-in-law to Jen, Jamie, Kathryn and Caroline. Her daughters-in-law would have some big shoes to fill and pies to bake. They would learn her recipes, be pushed out of their comfort zones to try new adventures and sports and strive to be like her in so many ways. The love and admiration they have for her is so strong and always will be.
Cheryl and Andy becoming ''Nana and Pops'' would be her next adventure. Cheryl loved being a grandmother and cherished her 11 grandkids. Justin (19), Alyssa (15), Andrew (14), Kinley (14), Josh (13), Katelyn (12), Maggie (11), Elizabeth (10), Sophie (10), Anna Claire (7) and Jonathan (4).
Cheryl loved sharing all of her hobbies with them and spending time at the family lake house, where lots of baking, water sports, family games, and George Strait was being played, and westerns were being watched. Her grandkids all have parts of her personality in them and will carry her spirit in all of their future adventures.
Into Cheryl and Andy's ''Golden Years'', they spent their time traveling, flying on Andy's plane, bonding with their grandkids and making memories as a family of 21 that will last forever.
Cheryl will be greatly missed. Her strong personality, her laugh, her zest for life, the sparkle in her blue eyes- will never be forgotten. But it is time for her greatest adventure yet. And we look forward to joining her in that one too, one day.
Services will be 2:30pm Monday, September 9th in the Chapel of Immanuel Baptist Church, Little Rock with Dr. Rex Horne officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm, until service time. Burial will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle.
The family requests that memorials be made in Cheryl's name to either Alzheimer's Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205 or Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

Cheryl was a very special person and I'm sure the matriarch of the family. Our ties go back to the late 50's when we both attended the same church for many, many years. To Cheryl's dear family. To a great wife, mother, grandmother, friend. So many titles for a wonderful lady with unmeasurable love for her family & for all who knew her. She takes all that love with her. The Lord has called you home, for your work on earth is done. You & Andy raise 4 wonderful sons. You taught them to be great husbands, and dads. They love their families and that is the best accomplishment a mother and dad can hope for. A wonderful grandmother who loved unconditionally. You have joined all your loved ones in heaven...it's a great rejoicing. Your son's & Andy all carry your love and memories with them. It's a sweet, sad time for all who loved you. Rest in Peace in the glow of our father. God bless the wonderful life you led. Much love, Jan Nalley

I will always remember Cheryl.
Such a sweet soul.
So glad I was able to see her and Andy at our class reunion.
Praying for the entire family.
I have so many happy memories of Cheryl! I remember skiing with her on a Girl's trip where we had to be checked for frost bite before we could get on the chair lift again.....and trying to keep up with her as she went flying down the slopes. Laughter and so much fun at the bridge table and the hours spent on the tennis court playing with her or watching her play ...so very well. What an athlete she was. Cheryl was also a lady in every way and in addition a good friend, wonderful mother and loving wife. My thoughts are with Andy, her 4 boys, their wives and her grandchildren who will miss her so much.
