Max D. King

of Wichita, KS

October 27, 1935 - August 29, 2024

Max D. King, 88, a resident of Wichita, Kansas passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Amberwood Health and Rehab in Benton.

He was born October 27, 1935 in Chanute, Kansas to the late John and Viola (Watkins) King. Max spent his working years as a machinist for the Boeing Company. In addition to his years as a machinist, Max surrendered to the call of pastoral ministry. Max served as pastor for several churches through the years. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church of Wichita.

In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Rogers) King and a sister, Marion Hemphill.

Survivors include two sons, Roger King and wife, Karla of El Dorado, Kansas and Stephen King and wife, Carmen of Batesville; a daughter, Paula Dick and husband, Andrew of Alexander; six grandchildren, Katlyn DickLaw, Julia Dick, Dalton King, Emma King, Shirley King and Savannah King and a sister, Madelyn Reed of Derby, Kansas.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville with Mr. Andy Dick officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville.

Roger, Karla and all the families. I am so sorry to about Max’s passing. He had a good life in serving the Lord and his parishioners. I hope he wasn’t suffering in the final days. I enjoyed listening to some of your stories about him not to long ago.
