Johnny Rankin Jr., 80, of Mountain Home, Arkansas sadly left us on Sunday, July 15, 2024 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was a loyal Conservative Republican, served in the Army National Guard for six years, worked in the construction trade as a tile installer for over 30 years and was a loyal member of BPOE Elks for over 28 years. In his free time, he enjoyed boating on the area lakes, watching NASCAR, working in his yard and growing tomatoes.
Johnny is survived by his daughter, Tina Gray; three grandchildren, Mark Manley II, Ashley Baker and Stephanie Gray; seven great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Lawrence and two nieces, Marci (Lee) Stracener and Cassie (Gwyn) Jowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Rankin Sr. and Bessie (Brewer) Rankin.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Roller Funeral Home with entombment following the service and pallbearers are Gwyn Jowers, Lee Stracener, Bill Stark, Joe Igleheart, Darrell Rankin and David Rankin.
My deepest condolences. Johnny left this earth to ne with God! No pain. God has wrapped his arms around him as well as his family. Ya'll will be in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs....
So sorry to hear this. I have many fond memories of times back in Blytheville.
Johnny was always a great guy and a good friend for many years. JoAnn, you and your family are in my prayers. RIP, old friend, you were sure a blessing to know.

Never forget, my first job out of high school was with Jessie Eubanks flooring, working with Johnny, he was great at doing anything flooring, and taught me everything he knew. I didn’t last very long in that business, but lots of lessons from great guy that helped me survive all the days working there with Jessie and Johnny. RIP my friend. Paul

Sorry for your loss. I've known Johnny for many years. I will always remember our friendship, the way he could out work someone 30 years younger, the debates we would have about politics, the love he had for Nascar, and how he always wanted his house and yard to look. Rest in peace my friend.
