Janie Catherine Newton, age 80, of St. Joe, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Sunday, July 14th, 2024 at Creekside at the Springs in Yellville, Arkansas. She was born in Kaufman, Texas on May 11th, 1944 to JV Taylor and Mary Jane Vincent Taylor.
Janie spent her working years at Levi's and Flintrock. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing. Her joyful, outgoing personality will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Stephen Wright (Kim) of Marshall, J.W. Newton of Marshall, Tammy Hendricks of Greenbrier, Tommie Baker (Leonard) of St. Joe and Brandy Oliver (Harry) of Marshall; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and sister, Patricia Godo of Dallas, TX.
Janie is preceded in death by her parents, JV and Mary Jane Taylor; her husband, Leon Newton; daughters, Cathy Wright Long and Peggy Wright; two great grandchildren, Brookley Oliver and Kruz Oliver and sister, Verna Jo Hickman.
Graveside memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at Chinquapin Cemetery near Welcome Home, Arkansas.

I could write a best seller with the memories I have of Miss Janie. She had a gift of love that radiated through Creekside and she touched everyone she knew! Her sparkling personality and her zest for life kept us both smiling and laughing…we never knew what came next!
I think I can speak for everyone at Creekside when I say that our work Mom will forever live on in the precious memories we shared with her
