of Leslie, AR
June 14, 1935 - July 15, 2024
Dykes Daniel Passmore, age 89, of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this life Monday, July 15th at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Leslie, Arkansas on June 14, 1935 to Alton and Neva (Kuykendall) Passmore. Daniel married his high school sweetheart, Maurdiece (Massey) Passmore on January 17, 1955 and they were blessed with two children.
Daniel was known by many nicknames throughout the years including Boone, Rusty and Red, a tribute to his bright copper hair. He was known in his younger years as an exceptional basketball player for the Leslie Bulldogs, on a team made up of at least 3 Passmore boys. After graduation, he worked for Jack Simpkins at the sale barn and drove a cattle truck for many years. He was often seen carrying his hickory stick and facing down the meanest cow in the lot without an ounce of fear in his eyes. Daniel was a master carpenter and could often be found in his workshop perfecting his next project. After retiring, he kept his days busy tending cattle and driving the school bus. He treated every student that rode his bus like they were his own and impacted many young lives. Above all else, Daniel was proud to be a dad and a ''Pa''. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved attending ball games, rodeos, pageants or whatever other activity one of the kids was involved in. He had a special bond with each of his grandchildren and passed down his love of tricks, quick wit and goofy nicknames.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Neva Passmore; his loving wife of 66 years, Maurdiece Massey Passmore; siblings, Hendrix Passmore, Pete Passmore, Barbara Passmore and Betty Jo Lockerby and grandson, Benjamin Passmore.
Survivors include his daughter, Danna (Donnie) Collins of Dennard; son, Wendel (Valorie) Passmore of Marshall; six grandchildren, Jeanie (Heath) Horton, Eric (April) Collins, Sarah (Clint) Vernon, Justin (Erika) Passmore, Austin (Melissa) Passmore and Victoria (Jonathon) Prout; ten great-grandchildren, Clay Horton, Kelley Daniel (Kiaura) Collins, Augustus Horton, Kennalea Collins, Kyle Vernon, Kinsey Vernon, Bristol Passmore, Kacelyn Vernon, Daniel Eugene Passmore and Luke Prout; siblings, Emma (Ronald) Morrison, Corbet (Lois) Passmore and Bernell Adams and many other extended family who will mourn his passing.
Graveside services for Daniel will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 22nd, 2024 at Elberta Cemetery in Leslie, Arkansas with Bro. Tommy Jolly and Bro. Donnie Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be Eric Collins, Justin Passmore, Austin Passmore, Clay Horton, Kelley Collins, Gus Horton, Kyle Vernon, Daniel E. Passmore and Luke Prout.

Danna & Wendell and families,
We are so sorry to hear about Uncle Daniel. I know you will miss him so much but oh what a reunion took place early this morning when Jesus and Maurdiece were there waiting for him!
Sorry for your loss. I rode in the cattle truck with him on a few trips and it gave me the truck drivin’ fever. He was a lot of fun to go with. I eventually sort of took his place hauling cattle and then other things. befor spending 32 years at UPS, so I give him credit for the way my working life turned out.
