Charles Ray Hampton, age 85, of Proctor, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was born June 10, 1939 in Pollard, Arkansas to parents, Earnest and Ethal Book Hampton.

Charles, early in life, met and married Sylvia Platt. The two were able to spend nearly 65 years together, building their own family, before God took him home. Charles worked for many years in West Memphis at Boise Cascade and loved spending his free time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his son, Lonnie Ray Hampton of Clarendon, Arkansas; his daughter, Sylvia Charleen Kelley of Marion, Arkansas; brothers, Johnny Hampton (Connie) of Michigan City, Indiana and Earl Hampton (Rose) also of Michigan City and sisters, Mary Martin (Junior) of Manila, Arkansas, Patricia Tyler (Larry) also of Manila and Judy Hobbs of Louisville, Kentucky. He will be deeply missed by his only grandson, Daniel Kelley. Charles is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lottie Platt.

Visitation and Service will take place at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and service at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place after at Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree, Arkansas.

Sorry for your loss Sylvia wish I could be there. But I have no vehicle but he was a good man I know he will be missed dearly you were together a long time glad Georgia and Ricky live close by glad to know you both
