Aubrey Dale Godwin, Jr., age 53, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. He was born on Saturday, October 31, 1970 in Warner Robbins, Georgia to Aubrey Dale Godwin, Sr. and Vera Godwin.
Dale served our country in the United States Navy and was a commercial contractor around Phillips County for many years. He was a member of the Faith Outreach Church in West Helena, Arkansas and of the American Legion in Helena, Arkansas. Dale was a free spirit and very head strong. He loved gardening and spending time with his pets and family.
He is survived by his wife of over 32 years, Vickie Marter Godwin; one son, Aubrey Dale Godwin III (Kendall Godwin) of Bono, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Kash Godwin, Kamryn Godwin, Ozzy Godwin and Rumour Godwin; mother, Vera Godwin; two nephews, Edward Evans, Jr. and David Marter; two sisters, Nina Evans of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Mims Dunne of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; five nieces, Andrea Ramsey, Katherine DeRoe, Daphne Evans, Melissa Peterson and Megan Tetkoskie; cousins; friends and special pet, Weezer.
He is preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Dale Godwin, Sr and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service for Aubrey Dale Godwin, Jr. will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in West Helena, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas at a later date.

My sincerest condolences to the Godwin family. Dale and I went from grade school all the way through high school. My fondest memories was at the American Legion Hut on Thursdays when our families met up there to play bingo. His dad actually worked there part time. Dale was kind and will be greatly missed.

To the Godwin family, Dale and I were classmates and I enjoyed our heated discussions on FB. I called him my favorite Pot Stirrer. Dale had such a great heart and soul. He loved you all so much. When he found out about Kash he was head over heels and i know he felt the same about you all. He loved you all fiercely and would do anything for you all. But I think many of his classmates remember him helping us too in many ways. A smile. A dollar. A ride. A shoulder. Dale was a great man and a true American Hero. I was Blessed to know him. I know he will be missed, But God’s Military just grew and it’s even better than ever. I pray you all find peace knowing Dale is with his dad and other friends and family looking down on you all.
