Louise Ussery

of Little Rock, AR

April 3, 1938 - June 8, 2024

A beautiful soul on earth and now in Heaven, Mary Louise Ussery of Little Rock, AR passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at the age of 86 on June 8, 2024, in Mission Viejo, CA. She was the daughter of the late Fred Olen Keathley and Noma Elizabeth (Starr) Keathley. She was born on April 3, 1938, in Mount Vernon, Arkansas.

She grew up in Modesto, CA and was baptized at Baldwin, Park, CA at the age of 16 at the Church of Christ. In her teens, she moved to Arkansas where she attended and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. Shortly following, she met and married the love of her life, Russell B. Ussery. They had five children and were married for 58 wonderful years.

Her favorite thing was seeing her family all together. She had a special talent for cooking, always making the best homemade meals. She would love that her recipes will be passed down for many years. She was also an avid Razorback fan and looked forward to the games to root on her favorite team with ''Go Hogs!''.

Called by her love of children, she worked at the Conway Human Development Center from July 1987 to September 2000. She took care of each client as if they were her own child and truly cherished her role as a caretaker.

Following retirement, she and her husband resided in Little Rock, AR. They enjoyed their retirement years traveling extensively on trips with family and friends across the nation.

She was a faithful Christian and a member of the Levy Church of Christ working on Campaigns for Christ and continued her faithful service as a member of the Central Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sister, Margie Bissell of Brownsville, TX, and three children, Debbie Ussery of Laguna Niguel, CA, Robin Ussery of Wheaton, IL, and Rachelle Ussery of Ellington, CT. Three grandchildren, Ashley England, Rusty and Brandon Ussery; two great-grandchildren Grayson and Lillian England; and sons-in-law, Marty Guthrie and Troy England.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ezra Dee Keathley; her loving husband, Russell B. Ussery; her daughter, Sheila May Ussery; and her son, Russell Wade Ussery.

She brought smiles and laughter wherever she went and never met a stranger. She is already greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral home in Conway, AR. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park with Brother Leon Barnes officiating.

My beautiful, precious Aunt Louise. What a lovely picture and just the way I will always remember her. I'm grateful for the time I was able to spend with her as a child, watching her cook and dote over every task. I remember the infectious laughter between Uncle Russell and her as she would run his feet when he came home from work. I remember the Maple syrup she put on our pancakes. It was so delicious it made my tummy twirly. I bought every Maple syrup available in search of the one she used. It was only when I asked her about it that she told me it was homemade and how to make it. Oh, there are so many memories I will hold in my heart, and I look forward to seeing her again in the presence of our Lord and our God.
