of North Little Rock, AR

February 3, 1929 - June 9, 2024

O.B. Phillips, 95 years young, of North Little Rock, passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior, Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was born February 3, 1929, in Quitman, to the late Nettie (Hackney) and Opie Phillips. O.B. was preceded in death by his parents; four brother and sisters; his loving wife of 69 years, Bertie Lee (Davis); one grandson, Travis Vint; and one great-grandson, Alex Finney.

O.B. was a long-time member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church in N.L.R., where he served as Deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He loved the Lord, his family and his Church. He was a truck driver by trade but enjoyed working outdoors doing yardwork, gardening or just tinkering with mowers. He was always full of jokes, fun and stories to share. O.B. was well loved and we will miss him.

He is survived by one sister, Sylvia Kennedy of Wooster; three daughters, Leevena (Randy) Capel of Vilonia, Regena Vint of N.L.R., Verlena Fae (Eugene) Davis of N.L.R.; grandchildren, Stephanie (Pat) Finney, Jason (Lindy) Vint, Bobby (Shara) Capel; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brooke, Thomas, Neela, Georgia, Maddie and Alana; and two great-great-grandchildren, Leah and Lilah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

So very sorry for your loss. OB was the happiest man I’ve ever known. I grew up attending First General Baptist Church with him and later reunited with him at Cedar Heights Baptist Church. I looked forward to seeing him every Sunday because he was always so cheerful and always had a big hug for me. He will be missed by all who knew him.
