Roy Wayne Campbell, 76, of La Porte, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Houston, Texas. He was born on October 8, 1947 in Scranton, Arkansas to his parents, Clomer W. and Ila Mae (Henderson) Campbell.
Roy was retired after over 30 years of service from Dow Chemical. He loved to hunt, fish and watch his Houston Astros baseball team.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Smerdel) Campbell and one sister, Mary Ann Lawless.
He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Holland and husband, Jonathan of La Porte, Texas and Alyssa Watson of Seabrook, Texas; one son, Jeremiah Campbell of Brookshire, Texas; three sisters, Shirley Roper of England, Arkansas, Jean Walker of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Phyllis Smerdel of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother, Pete Campbell of Dardanelle, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Jayden Holland, Leland Campbell, Jagger Holland, Levi Campbell, Peyton Campbell, Eleanora Campbell and Florence Campbell.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Dublin Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will begin immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jeff Henderson. Burial will follow in Wares Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Billy Campbell, Buddy Henderson, Ricky White, Corey White, Dale Roper and Hubert Griffin.
