Jerry "Papa" Griggs, 82, of Whitney, Texas peacefully left this earth on June 6, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Clinton, AR on September 20, 1941 to Chester and Carthal Griggs.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Griggs; his parents, Chester and Carthal Griggs and his two brothers, Larry and Jackie Griggs.
Jerry was born and went to school in Clinton, AR. He married Brenda Ward in May 1960 and in their 56 years of marriage they had 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He worked over 30 years for Associated Milk Producers Incorporated in Arkansas and Texas. Jerry loved being outdoors and spending time with family, just sitting on his front porch or in the shop watching sports and basically assing around. He enjoyed playing golf at Bosque Valley Golf Club, where he made his first hole in one at the age of 82. Jerry would spend summers camping with the family, taking the grandchildren fishing on the White River and growing a little bit of everything in the garden.
Jerry is survived by his children, Stan and Dianne Griggs of Whitney, TX and Wendy and Greg Keeney of Stephenville, TX; his grandchildren, Chad and Meghan Griggs of Burleson, TX, Keith Griggs of Burleson, TX, Courtney Griggs of St. Cloud, MN, Sara Keeney of Weatherford, TX and his great grandchildren, Emma and Keatyn Griggs of Burleson, TX.
There will be a visitation at 9:00am on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR immediately followed by funeral services at 10:00am. Burial will be at Blackwell Cemetery in Bee Branch, AR.

I went to school with Jerry and I am sending regrets from myself and the whole 1959 Clinton High School Class for your loss! We had not heard from Jerry and were unaware of the loss of Brenda! We are all so sorry! Our class reunion is June 25, Tuesday at 4:00 at Western Sizzlin in Clinton and I will tell all our classmates who attend! God bless you all!
