Rosie Lea Green

of Harriet, AR

April 5, 1937 - June 7, 2024

Rosie Lea Green, age 87, of Harriet, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, June 7th, 2024 at White River Health and Rehab in Calico Rock, Arkansas. She was born in Harriet, Arkansas on April 5th, 1937 to Ira Albert Balentine and Mary Matilda Treat Balentine. Rosie was married to Arlis Green for 65 years before his death in 2020.

Rosie was a member of the Big Flat Assembly of God Church. In her younger years Rosie picked strawberries and worked in the tomato factory. She worked hard on the family farm, raising cattle and poultry. She loved sports of any kind, especially basketball and the Razorbacks. Rosie loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She left an amazing legacy to her grands. A legacy filled with walking barefoot, the game of basketball, Razorbacks, yelling at referees, brutal honesty, learning to drive in a hayfield, making jam and calling in the cattle (often from several farms over). Memories that will live on for generations to come, thanks to this amazing mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Martin and husband, Marty of Harriet; her son, Rick Green and wife, Jayne of Lamar; grandchildren, Courtney Wilkins (Billy Joe) of Lamar, Kyle Green (Kaci) of Clarksville, Cody Green (Lindsay) of Prairie Grove, Corey Green (Ashley) of Dacula, GA, Brittany Clark (Tyler) of Jasper and Baylea Martin (Spencer) of Bergman; great-grandchildren, Josie, Abby, Mayci, Jaylea, Ty, Maybree, Kinley, Karsyn, Kam, Marlea, Copeland, Emma, John David and Caroline and many extended family members who will also mourn her passing.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Mary Balentine; her husband, Arlis Green; one son, Markey Green and nine siblings.

Graveside services for Rosie will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 at Big Flat Cemetery in Big Flat, Arkansas with Bro. Darin Holliman and Steven Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow the graveside service where Rosie will be laid to rest beside her husband, Arlis. Honorary bearers will be Kyle Green, Cody Green, Corey Green, Billy Joe Wilkins, Tyler Clark, John David Mitchell and Spencer Woods.
