Danny Earl Hensley

of Conway, AR

December 4, 1952 - May 24, 2024

Danny Earl Hensley, 71, of Conway, Arkansas, was born in Des Arc, Arkansas on December 4, 1952, to Woody and Marian (Frizzel) Hensley.

He passed away on May 24, 2024, in Conway, Arkansas, in the arms of his wife of 24 years, Karan Hensley, and surrounded by family.

Danny met the love of his life, Karan, in 1986, when they were assigned to workstations across from one another at AmTran. Once he'd convinced her to take a chance on him, they were inseparable. Danny was happiest when with her, no matter what they were doing. In their younger years it was long drives, playing pool and country music. In later years it was long drives, time on the porch with their family and friends, soap operas and country music.

A musician from an early age, Danny first picked up a guitar when he was 8 years old, learning to play from his father and teaching himself by ear. Passionate about playing and listening to country music, especially what he called REAL country music, Danny was part of many local bands as an adult, performing gigs around the Central Valley. With the support of his wife and family, he spent time in Nashville pursuing a solo country music career.

In addition to being an accomplished musician, Danny was an avid horseshoe player, animal lover, a dedicated husband, father, brother, and best friend while also being extraordinarily vain about his appearance ~ especially his hair. He will be forever remembered for his sense of humor. He was always quick with a witty comment or wise-crack while looking his best doing it!

A man of quiet faith, Danny was a child of God who spoke with Him daily and chose to lead others to Him by example. Danny leaves behind a legacy of a lifetime walking a rhythm of his own, a song of love, family, and laughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles (Chuck) Hensley.

He is survived by his wife, Karan Hensley; sons, Wade Tucker and wife, Amanda; Clint Tucker and wife, Amy; brothers, Terry Hensley and wife, Pam; Tony Hensley and wife, Mary; Woody (Pepe) Hensley and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Matthew Tucker and wife, Sara; Patrick Tucker and wife, Ali; Zander Marcial and wife, Dakota; Isabella Bolling-Wagler and fiancé, Trey Wilson; Kelsey Tucker; Abigail Myers; and Amelia Tucker; five great-grandchildren, and one more on the way; stepfather Jerome Parker; numerous nieces and nephews; and the original ride-or-die best friend, Brenda Squires.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas with Brother Boe Dickey officiating.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the Carti Foundation at www.carti.com/foundation/donate-now/ in Danny Hensley's name.

So sad to hear this. I grew up with Danny in West Sacramento, CA. The first band I was in was Danny, Chuck Hensley, Rey Ornelas and myself. We used to play at all the Junior High School dances where we went. Another great guy passed too soon. Man could he play that Gibson ES-335 of his Father’s. Rest In Peace old friend!!

I have not known Danny long but I didn’t need to as realizing his authenticity. He was committed to his family, very loving to his wife and children. He was honest with his feelings and chose to depart our world on his terms. I applaud his courage and his deep faith. He will be at home in Heaven taking the stage from someone else. My sincerest condolences to Karan and his children. It is a pure pleasure to have known this MAN!! “ Silver Wings shining in the sunlight roaring engines based somewhere in flight they’re taking you away leaving us lonely silver wings slowly fading out of sight ( Meryl Haggard)
Sorry Danny I had to do that
