Ida Neal Knecht passed away in the care of Hospice at Care Manor in Mountain Home, Arkansas on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the age of 81. She was previously a resident at River Lodge in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Ida was born in Nash County, North Carolina as one of 8 children.

Before living in Arkansas, Ida lived in Yadkinville, North Carolina for many years with her husband, Thomas Knecht. She retired from working as a medical transcriptionist for Wake Forest Physicians, Baptist Hospital of North Carolina. She also served a Mission in Alabama for two years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). Her sweet disposition and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Ida is survived by her two sisters, Barbara Fox and Carolyn RoseIda; daughter, Gretchen Holcer of Briarcliff, Arkansas and four step-children, David Lewis of North Carolina, Sandra Vance of Indiana, Dwayne Knecht of Texas and Sonya Clark of California. She also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she was very close and treasured every moment. She is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Lewis.

A memorial service will be held locally at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) at 100 West Hills Loop in Mountain Home, Arkansas at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
