James Wayne Armstrong, known to his friends and family as Wayne, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his home in Brookland, AR at the age of 86. Wayne was born April 4, 1938 in Bay, AR to R.E. and Mary Florence (Holt) Armstrong. He was a gravel truck driver and owner of Armstrong Custom Hauling. He loved fishing, hunting, racing cars and camping. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 28 years, Sue (Hale) Armstrong and several siblings.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Wayne include his two sons, James (Linda) Armstrong and Scott (Pat) Armstrong; two daughters, Kathleen (Steve) Granger and Connie Armstrong; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a brother, Roy Dale (Martha) Armstrong.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro, AR with Bro. Jim Bobbitt officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service and begin at 10 am.
Dewayne Hammett, Chad Hammett, Jason Davidson, Alex Bounds, Jonathan Granger and Hunter Hammett will serve as pallbearers. Scott Armstrong, James Armstrong and Steve Granger will serve as honorary pallbearers.
