of West Memphis, AR
May 13, 1947 - May 3, 2024
With great sadness, Robert Hunt, of West Memphis, AR passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, May 3rd, 2024 surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. He was born May 13, 1947 in Joiner, AR, the son of James Claude and Dora Hunt who preceded him. He grew up in Wilson, AR and graduated from Wilson High School in 1966 where he excelled in both basketball and football.
Robert has spent the last several years enjoying all the good things associated with his retirement. You could always find him sitting on his patio with his little dog enjoying the weather or talking with whatever good company would join him. Friends and family were always welcome. Anybody who knew Robert knows that if it was hunting season, he was in the woods where his heart truly belonged.
He is survived by his son, Dany Hunt of Memphis, TN; daughter, Lisa Hunt Russell of Bartlett, TN; brothers, Claude Hunt (Sharon) of Marion, AR, Paul Hunt (Joyce) of Southaven, MS and a sister, Linda Currie of West Memphis, AR. But the biggest smiles you would see on Robert's face were when his grandkids were mentioned. Carson, Camille, Collin and Anna, he loved you dearly.
Preceding him in death were siblings, James Hunt, William Hunt, Terry Hunt, Roy Hunt, Ann Oliver and Christiva Tolbert.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 11, 2024 in the Chapel at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Memphis, AR from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. A short memorial service will begin at noon.

Bubba, I will miss you so very much! Thank you for always being there for me, you were the best step father we could have ever been blessed with, even though that woman never would remarry. Now you and mom and yes even dad are up there with my true love, Paul, I am and will always be at a loss without yall. Keep him company till I can join you all. Sadness for our loss but filled with love and envy knowing yall are together.
We will truly miss you, but you are with Faye now and I truly miss her. I feel like you are happy but we are sad for the loss of you and Faye but I will see you both again. God bless your family
Rest in Peace, Robert. He’s at peace and back with Faye now. Prayers for Bobby and Donna, their spouses and children. And anyone else who loved him.
I knew Robert primarily during our time together at Superior Coatings. He was always a great man in every facet of his life. A great friend and worker! Always there for his fellow man. You will never meet a more unselfish and happy individual.
This is a very sad day and my thoughts and prayers go out to all the family.
With all my heart,
