John Foster Mitchell Jr., 91 of Searcy, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was born on February 21, 1933 in Barton, Arkansas to the late John Foster Mitchell Sr. and Albertha Louise Bloesch. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and worked for Chicago Mill, Mohawk Rubber and retired from Hoffinger Industries.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Eva D. Mitchell; one daughter, Amy Rutledge of Searcy, Arkansas; two sons, Bob Mitchell of West Helena, Arkansas and Bruce Mitchell (Patricia) of Cabot, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Audra ''Mikki'' Hamilton (John) of Searcy, Arkansas, Dr. Dale Rutledge (Ross) of Seattle, Washington, Foster Mitchell (Brittany) of West Helena, Arkansas, Rebecca (Phillip) Morter of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Dr. Katherine Mitchell (Trysten) of Little Rock and Sarah Mitchell of Little Rock; four great grandchildren, John David Hamilton, Jim Hamilton, Easton Mitchell and Kallen Mitchell and one sister, Virginia Herrin of Memphis Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Foster Mitchell Sr. and Albertha Louise Bloesch; two Sisters, Betty Hill and Martha Hobby and brother, James Mitchell.

His honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.

A visitation will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena Arkansas immediately followed by a graveside service at 2:00pm at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas. Brother Bobbie Baker will officiate.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donation be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation.
