Carolyn Jean Curley Clark, 88, of Cabot, AR passed away on April 23, 2024. She was born on December 10, 1935 a daughter of the late LeRoy and Lillian Curley of Little Rock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Clark; two sisters, Ernestine Todd and Peggy Wilbern as well as a brother, Jerry Curley. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Dennis) Cates, Cathy (Bill) Dickinson; two sons, Mike Clark, Randy (Barbara) Clark; two sisters, Mary Alice (Don) Showmar and Becky Pasley; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Carolyn attended Little Rock Central High School and graduated in 1953. She raised four children in the Western Hills neighborhood of Little Rock and the family attended Western Hills United Methodist Church. In her younger years, Carolyn served the church teaching kindergarten and serving on various committees. After retirement, Carolyn served the church by working in the food pantry, feeding the homeless and preparing communion for Sunday mornings. At age 72, Carolyn participated in a mission trip to the Dominican Republic where she assisted in creating educational opportunities for children in the orphanages and local residents. Carolyn was passionate about serving the Lord and sharing the gospel.
Once retired from her full-time career, Carolyn became an independent travel agent and traveled quite often. She developed a love for traveling and was able to see many different islands and countries. Going on a cruise was one of her favorite ways to travel. She never met a stranger while traveling, enjoyed meeting people all over the world and listening to the piano was one of her favorite things to do. She also enjoyed bus tours and traveling within the United States. When Carolyn wasn't traveling, she decided to take ballroom dancing lessons. She loved dancing and attended ballroom dance socials regularly. At one point she even participated in a showcase demonstrating her new dancing skills. Carolyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1:30 pm Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in the Chapel of Roller Alcoa, with funeral service starting at 1:30 pm.
