Dalline, Eddie and Greg , I was saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Willis. As you know, we worked at Blytheville Air Force Base Fire Department together. Willis and I share a lot of time together away from work, hunting, fishing and chasing horses. Your family always welcomed me with open arms when I came to visit. I have so many fun memories from time together with you all. He was like an older brother to me. I learned about guns, dogs, horses and how to tell a tall tells. Boy could he tell um. As a firefighter he was the best, he mentored many, and they mentored others. His impact lives on. Rip my Friend.

I first met Willis in 1971 at Blytheville AFB!! I knew right away we were going to be friends!! He loved George Straight and I did too!! We exchanged information on our guns and hunting trips!! He was definitely a sharp knowledgeable firefighter and we worked well together!! He was always first to help the young firefighters with his skills and knowledge!! He volunteered for many projects in the fire re station and step up on the restoration of our old R-2 rescue vehicle which ended up in the firefighter’s museum!! He was liked by all and will be greatly missed by all who knew him!! My condolences to all of Willis’s family and all who loved him!! I know one day I’ll get to have that cup of coffee with him again!! May God bless all!!

First of all, I would like to express my sincere condolences to all of his family. Please know that 49 years later Willis still survives in many memories of those who had the privilege of working with him at Blytheville AFB Fire Department. We enjoyed our horses together and I can still hear him singing around the station one of his favorite Conway Twitty songs. "Lying here with Linda on my Mind" RIP Willis.

My sincere condolences to Willis' family and loved ones . I was stationed at Blytheville in the early 70's and lucky to have him as a mentor of sorts . I learned alot about Life and Firefighting from Willis . He was a friend and a great help to a young Yankee , trying to find his way in the world . I will always remember and respect him .

Loved his smile when he would yell " HEY ROOKIE ". to get my attention .
