Imogene Ruth Altman (Memaw), 92, of Hughes, AR passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024. Imogene was born on July 20, 1931 in Forrest City, Arkansas to the late Willie and Birdie Webb.
Imogene was proceeded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years, JW Altman and one son, Paul Altman. She is also proceeded in death by her brothers, Pete, James, Donald and Willie Webb and one sister, Sue Mullen.
Her and JW attended Central Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes. She always knew one day she would rejoice with Jesus.
She spent most of her working career working at a nearby sewing factory, as she loved to sew. She will be remembered for being the glue to the family, as she always knew how to lure everyone together, even if it was just for a few minutes.
Family was the most important thing to her. She raised several generations in her little house in Hughes. She will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
Imogene survived by one sister, Marie Hula; grandchildren, Randle Altman (Mary) , Michael Altman (Sabrina), Brandin Alexander, Kimberly Altman (Brian), Shelby Alexander, Jay Alexander(Mitzi), Mary Alexander and Tina McCarty; Great grandchildren, Heather and Halie Gregory, Dakota Altman, Sidney Holland, Camden, Victoria, Aston, Aubree, Liam, Connor, Dalton, and Cody Alexander, Ryan Sampson, Trevor Wise, Joshua and Justin McCarty. She also survived by several nieces, nephews and great great grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral service will be held at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. Visitation will be Tuesday March 26th from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 27th @ 11 AM with a graveside service to continue at Crittenden Memorial Park thereafter.
I'm praying for the family of Mrs. Imogen. She was a wonderful and sweet lady. God bless the family with love and guidance during this time. She's definitely in her Heavenly home.
So sorry for the loss of this sweet lady. Prayers for her family during this difficult time. I saw her recently at church. I gave her a hug and talked to her. Heaven surely gained an angel.

Mrs. Altman was a lovely lady. She worked hard and helped provide for her family. She always had a smile on her face. The family is in our prayers.

She was such a dear friend!! Have know her over 56 years ! A great lady that will be missed by many.RIP sweet Imogene !
