of Cabot, AR
April 16, 1955 - March 11, 2024
Marion Eugene Underwood was born April 16, 1955 in Harris Hospital at Pine Bluff, Arkansas. His life was taken away February 26, 2024 and died on March 11, 2024.
In the beginning he grew up in the Pentecostal Church in Humnoke, Arkansas. He was part Osage and part Cherokee Indian. He farmed with his dad, was a truck driver for Riceland Foods with the nickname ''Jethro''. He later retired and moved to Cabot, Arkansas where he was given the name ''Ol School'' by his friends.
Marion was gullible, trusting, caring and a giving person; picking up strays and bringing them home to feed and give a place until they moved on. He never expected anything in return except a friendship knowing he helped someone. He was taught the values of ''work hard and keep your word.'' Those two things could never be taken away. He raised chickens for a hobby, always talking and telling them what to do. While he was visiting a couple got out and he hollered ''you better get back in that pen or you will be in my skillet tonight.'' Funny as it was, they ran back to the pen and got in, then he knew where to repair it and laughed. He loved the outdoors.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Eugene ''Gene'' and Katie Mae Pledger Underwood of Jacksonville Arkansas and one brother, Donald Wayne Underwood of Stuttgart.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Greer Underwood of Jacksonville, Arkansas; a sister, Jeanie Eagle of Stuttgart, Arkansas and a brother, Odie Underwood of England, Arkansas.
''So, brother, upon you looking upon us and giving that quirky smile, know that you are loved and left us with broken hearts and tears. Love you, Sis.''
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939. Burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery, Carlisle, Arkansas.

Just wanted to say I will always love you and miss you ol’school you were a true one of kind old soul that I had to pleasure to come to know and become very close friends with!!! you were always genuinely sincere with a heart bigger than Texas and I’ll never forget how meeting you changed my life for the good forever and also all the days I visited you, you would always call or text me the very next day to tell me you were sorry for being mean to me even though you never were!! Lol but you always insisted that I know that you were playing or that you didn’t mean to make me mad or hurt my feelings and again even tho I never thought you done any of that at all but you always felt like you did. You always treated me so good, and looked out for me, and made sure that I was always taken care of and never turned your back on me or never told me no.. you were definitely a one of kind person with a unique spirit and you will always be in my heart and I will never ever forget you my dear friend I will remember your legacy as I will make sure it lives on… you will always be loved and missed dearly and never ever forgotten!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH OL’ SCHOOL AND I MISS YOU EVEN MORE….
BUT NOW THAT YOU HAVE YOUR WINGS I WANT TO FLY HIGH O’L SCHOOL, FLY HIGH WITH THE ANGELS WHERE HEAVEN AWAITS YOUR HEART AND THE FLOWERS BLOOM IN YOUR NAME…. Love always,
