Marcus was born March 7,1927 in Nettleton, Mississippi. In his early years he served his country in the U.S. Navy and then became one of the most award winning cotton farmers in Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. He loved to duck and deer hunt and was heavily involved with his children in 4-H and supplying livestock to local students to raise and sell at the LA State Fair Livestock Auction. As much as he enjoyed his life's activities, the most rewarding time of his life was loving on his family and spending time with them. He loved his Lord and Savior and was very faithful serving in his church.
His life will be celebrated on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Central Assembly of God in Haughton. Visitation will be from 11-12 pm and his celebration of life will begin at 12 noon. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Gravis and Pastor Ken Richmond. Interment will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, AR.
He is survived by his children, Lawrence (Eva) Oswalt, Craig (Jan) Oswalt, Lisa (Bryan) Prunty, Steven Ring and Wendi (Greg) Tilley, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marcus is preceded in death by his parents, Markie and Eva Oswalt; his loving wife of 31 years, Janna Oswalt; and his son, Donald Ring.
Pallbearers will be Jerrad Sloss, Chris Tilley, Jim Tyson, Hunter Caples, Michael McNeely and Jim Sulcer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Central Assembly of God in Haughton.
