Johnie M. Carter, 90, of Humnoke, Arkansas was welcomed into Heaven on March 14, 2024. He was born to George and Alice Carter on July 15, 1933 in Brummitt, Arkansas.
Johnie was saved and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Humnoke, Arkansas. He was the town water keeper for many years and only retired several weeks ago prior to his illness. He also owned his own body shop in Humnoke years ago. He loved his family and played music with his brother, Doc.
Johnie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie and son, Monte Carter; his parents; seven brothers and three sisters.
Johnie leaves behind two sons, David Carter (Sharon) and Jerry Carter (Sandy) both from England, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Bobette Foster (Trey) of Vilonia, Arkansas, J. D. Carter (Stacey) of Lowell, Arkansas and Caroline Lantz (Matthew) of Fairbanks, Alaska. He had five great-grandchildren, Kyle and Carter Foster, Violet Carter, Konner and Tyler Schoeppler. He is also survived by three brothers, R. B. Carter, Doc Carter and Elbert Carter all of Humnoke and one sister, Joyce Staggs of Carlisle. He had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly along with close friends and church family.
He will be missed greatly by those who knew him and loved him.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. followed by his funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Both are being held at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hamilton Cemetery at Snake Island, Arkansas. Services are being handled by Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939.

I had no idea that Johnnie passed away.
He was a favorite older cousin of mine.
He told me to keep practicing on my mandolin. I wanted to play as good as he was.

Mr. Johnie was A Very Nice Man with A Kind Heart, he was one of my Favorite Customers that came in the England Revenue Office. When I told him my maiden name was Carter, he said that we had to be related; we were Cousins from then on. Prayers for the Entire Carter Families.

I just read in the paper about Johnie passing. I called my brother Doug but he is unable to attend because his wife Lorena is very ill and he is her care taker. We would like to pay our condolences and that we are both saddened by Johnie's death. R.B and Doc were good friends and relatives to our dad Joe and we wish them the best. Our dad Joe, was a body and paint man like Johnie and they both worked in a time where there wasn't much safety equipment like there is now days. I loved to spend my summer and christmas vacations at my grandpaw Carter's farm in Humnoke back when I was a young boy. I got to know many of my relatives during that time in my life. My brothers, Doug and Billy Joe grew up in Humnoke when they were kids.

I’ve known Johnny and the family for years we had some really good times riding motorcycles and listening to the carters playing music but mainly the fellowship we had in church .We all got in church about the same time the Lord Jesus Christ is our King

I loved both Aunt Billie and Uncle Johnie. They were kind, sweet and I picture them together, singing with him strumming just like many times in my childhood.
