Peggy Sue Cusick, a beloved resident of Benton, Arkansas peacefully passed away on March 12, 2024 at the age of 92, following a courageous 12-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born on March 14, 1932 in Sheridan, Arkansas, Peggy was the daughter of the late Davis Corbet and Tennie Lealan (Ward) Wilson. She met the love of her life, Clinton Cusick, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2002. Peggy was reunited with Clint in heaven, along with her siblings, Veo Wilson, Theron Wilson, Conrad Wilson and Dorthy Nell Wilson Greene.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Goodner-Bragg (husband, DeWayne Bragg); son, Reggie Cusick (wife, Lori Cusick); grandson, Boyd Goodner (wife, Cristin Goodner); granddaughter, Blair Goodner; sisters, Era May Weeks and Gean Simmons (husband, Dick Simmons) and her great-grandchildren, Jude Cochran (14), Gray Goodner (12), Jack Cochran (10), Eleanor Cochran (8), Elliott Goodner (8) and Finneas Cochran (4).
Throughout her remarkable life, Peggy wore many hats, excelling in various professions. She successfully owned a trophy business and a dairy bar. In 1982, she made history by becoming the first woman elected to the board of Directors of Arkansas First Electric Cooperative. However, her greatest joy came from nurturing her family. Peggy's passions included cooking, appreciating nature, china painting and earning accolades for her skill in rifle target shooting.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Rd., Benton, AR, during visitation hours on Thursday, March 14, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Peggy's extraordinary life will be held at Roller-Alcoa's Chapel on Friday, March 15 at 10 AM.
Peggy's inner and outer beauty, radiant smile and countless acts of kindness touched the lives of many. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Donna I’m so sorry to hear this. I just heard and thought of the time we took her to Ft.Smith after your accident. She talked about how much you and your brother were loved. I know she will be missed very much. She was a good mother who loved you unconditionally.

Peggy is a beautiful lady both inside and out. She has a wonderful sense of humor. She will undoubtedly be greatly missed.

Mrs. Cusick was top notch! Beautiful lady, who put up with a lot from us boys who hung out at her home. Hope she and Mr. Clint are having a great reunion! Prayers for her family.
