Melvin Wolfe, age 83, of Harrison passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 19, 1940 to Crawford and Ruby Irene (Jones) Wolfe in Bastrop, Louisana. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Wolfe; a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.
Melvin was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was in the Fleet Reserves. He was a thirty-year member of Oakland Freewill Baptist Church. He worked in the healthcare industry. He enjoyed singing Gospel music wherever he was and bird and squirrel watching. Melvin was a Boone County War Memorial Association member, American Legion and the VFW. Melvin adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Melvin is survived by his children, Liz Witt and husband, Chris of Harrison and Ruby Foust and husband, Ron of Mtn. Home, Terry Wolfe and wife, Coveta of Lead Hill and Billy Wolfe and wife, Tiffany of Mtn. Home; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Terry French of Meridian, Mississippi; his brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry Wolfe of Bastrop, Louisiana and Tony and Judy Wolfe of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and a host of other family.
Visitation was on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Lonnie Burke, Mike Hutsell and Ryan Naff officiating.
Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Henry, Zachary Felts, Terry Dale Wolfe, David Witt, Jordan Wigginton and Ron Foust.
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Nordum, Mickey Witt and the staff of Legacy Hospice.

There was not a finer friend on this earth than brother Mel. His knowledge, wisdom, and understanding gave me assurance that he was the true and genuine man of God and one that a person could lean on. He will be missed down here but he is filling a vacancy in heaven today. My prayers to his family.

A wonderful Christian man and neighbor. Never heard a harsh word from him. He loved his family and was loved so much by his grandkids. Praying for the family

Dear family, so sorry for your tremendous loss….he was such a faithful, kind, and caring brother in Christ and we enjoyed seeing him each week and his singing. I don’t think there was a song he didn’t know! He sang specials at church until his health failed him.
You know where he is today and I know that he prayed and desires for each of you to meet him in heaven.
