March 10, 1943 - February 25, 2024
Carl ''Edward'' Gibbs Jr. of Earle, Arkansas passed away on February 25, 2024 in his home in Earle, Arkansas joining his wife, Bonnie Gibbs in a long awaited reunion.
Edward was born on March 10, 1943 in Parkin, Arkansas. He spent most of his youth working on the family farm and traveling the United States with his aunts and uncles. After graduating from Parkin High School, Edward enlisted in the Navy where he served throughout the Vietnam War and sailed the World. He loved to share his stories about being stationed in places like the Philippines and Hawaii.
After returning from Vietnam, Edward met the love of his life and started a family in Earle. He eventually started a new career as a truck driver, where he spent 30+ years with the handle ''Roly Poly' hauling cars all across the U.S.
Edward never met a stranger, always talking to anyone that would listen. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, bragging about his grandchildren and fishing. Until he took his last breath, he continued to talk about the next time he would go fishing.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Edward Sr and Katholeen Blake Gibbs and Wife, Bonnie Sue Gibbs. Edward is survived by his sons, Terry Gibbs (Ginger), Jody Gibbs (Kristy); three Grand Children, Justin Gibbs, Austin Gibbs and Sam Gibbs and Sister, Jennifer Corpier (Larry).
It was great growing up with his boys. Sitting on the porch and talking about our military experience. And also talking about the outdoors and boats. I will miss you Mr. Gibbs
Sending prayers and condolences to my friends and the rest of the family.
