of Conway, AR
October 23, 1940 - February 21, 2024
Sada Vandiver, 83, of Baltimore passed away peacefully on February 21,2024 with family by her side.
She was born to the late Bill and Sada Sibley in Oklahoma City, OK, graduated from Central State Teacher's College in 1960 and taught elementary school in the Lancaster School District in California for 36 years. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.
She was married to Wilson Vandiver for 59 years and they lived together in Lancaster, CA for 36 years, where they raised their three children, before retiring to Conway, AR. They moved to Baltimore, MD to be closer to their children and grandchildren and lived there for 5 years. Sada is survived by her three children, Stephanie Simms and her husband, Dale of Baltimore; Sharna Vandiver and her husband, Tarlan of Baltimore and Chad Vandiver and his wife, Elizabeth of Bryn Mawr and her three grandsons, Cole, William and Henry. Sada was predeceased by her husband, Wilson, who died January 29, 2024.
Sada was a dedicated teacher, accomplished bridge player and a wonderful wife and mother. She had a great sense of humor and she loved to socialize. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and spending time with family. She was quick to make friends and loved dearly by those who knew her. A loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Her funeral will be a joint celebration of life for both her and her husband, Wilson at the gravesite on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00PM, followed by a reception. They will be buried at the Vandiver family plot in Dardanelle, Arkansas. She asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Kidney Fund in her memory.
I met Sada at Harding High School in Oklahoma City when we were both in the seventh grade. (1952) We continued to see each other in California when they were in Lancaster and we were in Woodoland Hills, And lately we have corresponded both by mail and phone. She was the first to call me when my husband passed away in June of 2023..so thoughtful, and we had a great conversation then as usual. Thank you, Sada, for your friendship over these MANY, MANY years and many, many miles.

I loved Sada. She was such a special lady. I met her at Newcomers and she always had a smile and a hello. She just warmed my heart.
When my husband died, she was one of the first to bring food and condolences. But that was Sada. She is already being missed.
Met Sada at Jazzercise in Conway AR. What a sweet lady . Condolences to your family!
Sada was a dear friend; we shared many conversations of our grandchildren whom we dearly loved.
We both shared the fun of playing Bridge; Sada was quick to point out the rare “wish” trick.
Sending condolences to her family.
