Herbert Lee Wendlend, better known as Herby, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. He was born May 12, 1968, to Larry and Thelma Norene Gilly Wendland in Harrison.
Herby loved to visit with people, especially at Anderson's and Dollar General. When he wasn't aggravating people, he enjoyed riding around on his 4-wheeler with his dogs getting together with friends, and eating a good meal. He worked over 16 years for Tyson and two years for the City of Harrison maintenance department.
Herb is survived by his uncle Jim Wendland, his adopted family: Russell and Lou Mahler, Joseph and Kerrie Mahler, Brody and Victoria Gutierrez, and Matthew Mahler, nephew, Larry Joe "Joey" Wendland and a host of cousins, friends, and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joe.
Pallbearers were Joseph Mahler, Russell Mahler, Matthew Mahler, William Drewery, Kevin Jackson and Hayden Haygood.
Graveside service was Thursday, February 15, 2024, at York Cemetery with Richie Brushia officiating.
