On February 7, 2024, our beloved Robert left us to meet the Lord. Robert Lee VanTassel was born August 28, 1950, to Marven and Juanita VanTassel in Fresno, California. He lived in California until joining the army. He served in Korea from 1969 to 1975. There he met the love of his life, Kyong. They were married 52 years and were blessed with a daughter, Kimberly Ann, age 35.
Robert was active in the VFW and DAV. By 2013, he already volunteered 12,500 hours. He loved his fellow veterans so much. He served as commander of Chapter 6 in the DAV. The VFW and DAV have been amazing to Robert and his family. The family cannot express their gratitude to them.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Marvin, and his mother, Juanita.
He is survived by his wife, Kim "Kyong," daughter, Kimberly; sister, Peggy; nephews, Jerry Foster and his wife Angel, Jameson Foster and his wife Candy, Josh Foster, Justin Foster; and many beloved cousins and friends.
He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. His daughter Kimberly called him her "brave, courageous, brilliant father." They were sidekicks. He is so loved and will be missed by all.
Funeral Service was on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Interment was at Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Dear Miss Kim,
I am sorry that I did not know Robert for more Years than I did. He was a dear friend. Just remember what I told you last week. His death is not good bye. It is only "So Long ". We will see you later. God bless you and your daughter, and the whole family.
