Some of our fondest memories at Hardy are of LG and Montine. They were such fixtures in our little community of Springwood Acres. I asked our neighbor one time who planted all of those gorgeous flowers on the riverside from our place to the Thompson’s cabin and Miriam said, “Why, Montine planted all of those bulbs herself.” She was an amazing gardener, neighbor and friend. I miss her and LG so very much.
She was like a grandmother to our oldest son who went to be with the Lord 2 years ago. I bet he greeted her with a huge hug and laughter.
She will always live on in our memories…
Brent and family,
I’m so sorry to learn of Montine’s passing. Your family was such good neighbors when we lived across the street on Roselawn Circle and behind each other when we moved to Rosewood.
Larry and I were just starting out and raising our children and your parents were great examples of what good parents should be. Montine always had a smile and was so encouraging with good advice and memories to share.
I’m praying for God’s comfort and blessings for all of you now and in the days to come.
Montine was my Daddy’s first cousin. I have great memories of her when I was growing up in West Helena. I was able to see her at Dennis’s memorial service. She knew who I was which made me happy. My prayers are with all of you at this time.
Mrs. Ramsey was a good lady. We enjoyed seeing her and L.G. at Hardy. Mrs. Ramsey always greeted you with a smile and a hug, and she liked to laugh and have fun. She was also a very tough gal. We remember one time she told us the river flooded, and she waded through cold chest deep water in the backyard to turn her gas line off. Few people would attempt that. Glad she had such a good long life and got to enjoy many years at the cabin with L.G. and “Girl” the dog. We have missed all three of them. Very sorry for your loss.

I worked with her when she was at Big Star she treated us all like we were her kids. I never saw her when she was not smiling.
Brent I have such fond memories of your mom. We worked together at Big Star many years ago. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
