Donald Chastek

of Little Rock, AR

September 5, 1942 - January 16, 2024

Don Chastek departed from us unexpectedly but peacefully on January 16, 2024. He graced the world on September 5, 1942 in Seattle, Washington, leaving an unforgettable mark as a caring man and a loving father who consistently extended the benefit of the doubt to strangers.

Don spent 38 rewarding years in the Satellite Industry with Perfect Vision Manufacturing. Most recently, he was the Vice President of Foreign Operations, a role that reflected his passion for travel and his skill in business. A graduate in accounting, he brought a meticulous and insightful approach to his work, which was not just a job for him but a part of who he was.

Before embarking on his distinguished career, Don lived in Washington, California, Hawaii and Oregon, each place holding a special significance in his heart. For the past four decades, he called Little Rock, Arkansas home, where he was known for his warm presence and engaging stories.

An adventurous spirit, Don loved traveling, which complemented his career beautifully. He had a unique ability to find joy in every journey, whether for work or pleasure. His appreciation for new technology, air shows and magic shows showcased a man who cherished the wonders of life and the thrill of the unexpected.

Don's early days in car sales were a source of fond memories and valuable lessons. He often shared how this experience shaped his approach to business and life, instilling in him a genuine love for meeting people and understanding their stories.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Chastek, Don leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and wisdom. He is survived by his three sons and daughter-Jonathan Chastek, Sanford Chastek, Shawn Hirano and Karen Akana. There are so many who will miss him deeply but are comforted by the rich legacy of love, strength and wisdom he leaves behind.

Don's life was a journey of passion, commitment and joy. His memory continues to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him and his absence is keenly felt by family, friends and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

A celebration of his remarkable life will be memorialized with a service at 11:00 am on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR 77209. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Blessing at www.ob.org.

I met Don on my second day at PerfectVision 15 years ago. While we were not in the same department, we did have the same coffee schedule. We would both lament about how only us two really knew how to make the coffee. When I became a grandmother two years ago, he would ask me if I had any new pictures of my grand babies. Don will truly be missed. My heart goes out to his family.

Don you will absolutely missed by so many including your work family here at Perfect Vision. I will miss our talks in the break room each week and over grabbing a morning snack for our love of Bobby's Country Cookin'!!! You are and will always be an inspiration to me. I appreciate you welcoming me into PV and will always remember you!

My condolences to the Chastek family.

Don sounded like a wonderful human being. I wish I had the pleasure of meeting him, but I know his best qualities were passed down to his children.

Thinking of you all,
Brian

My deepest condolence to the Chastek family!

Don and I worked together at Perfect Vision for the past 10 years. He was a pleasure to work with and learn from over the years! I am going to miss our almost daily Zoom calls. Don was a great man and I am blessed to have been so lucky to get to know Don not just on business level, but a personal level as well. Don is going to leave a hole in the PerfectVision organization!

With sadness,

Mike

I just retired from OOCL. Don was my customer for 20 + years. This obituary is the best I've ever read. It truly is a pic of his life. He would make me crazy sometimes complaining about bad we were doing him. We would go back & forth until we both said our peace.
We would hang up after that, but only after we both talked about our families & how everyone was doing. I'm very sorry for your loss but, I do believe Don lived life to its fullest. I am a better person because of my relationship with Don.
