Howard H. Taylor, Jr., 80, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in West Helena, Arkansas. He was born in Helena, Arkansas to the late Howard, Sr. and Theo Lawrence Taylor. He graduated from Central High School in 1961 and joined the Army Reserves. Known by family and friends as ''Boots'', Howard married, started a family and settled in West Helena, Arkansas. He taught welding at Phillips County Community College and owned Two States Monument Company.
He loved sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals and was front and center at his children's sporting events for many years. Howard was a member of the Lion's Club and served on the Phillips County Quorum Court and the West Helena City Council.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Taylor; daughter, Angie Allred (Ike) of Little Rock, Arkansas; son, Jeff Taylor (Keri) of Maumelle, Arkansas; special niece, Michelle McGowan (Gregg) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren, Zoe Allred, Karah Allred, Presley Taylor; special grandniece, Asha McGowan; brother, Russell Taylor (Carolyn) of Arlington, Tennessee; sister, Mary Keck (Dan) of Ripley, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Ann Laurel (Dave) of Allen, Texas and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard H. Taylor, Sr. and Theo Lawrence Taylor; daughter, Sarah Beth Taylor; sister Martha Source; brother-in-law, Harry Source; sister-in-law, Glenda Bryan and nephew, Chip Bryan.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Taylor’s passing. We enjoyed every visit he made to the Corner Market. He was genuinely a good man. He will be missed.
Joyce & family, I am so sorry to hear of Boots passing. Boots will be missed by many, and I am one of the many, even though I don’t live there now. I enjoyed walking down the alley to hear what he had to say. It was always interesting. We have lost a great man. Rest In Peace my friend.

Ms Joyce, I was saddened to hear of Mr Taylor's passing. I always loved for him to come see me at H&M Lumber. He always had a smile and a kind word for me.
Joyce, I had lots of fun with Howard and all who helped in getting the memorial up on Plaza St. I pray you will draw from the many memories of Howard. He was a go getter and I highly respected him for all his many good works for this community. I know our Lord and Savior will be with you all when you think of his passing but we know one day peace will be gained. My prayers are with you and your families.

Joyce and family, I am so very sorry to learn of Howard's passing. I got to know him and you Joyce through our good friend R.E. Stancliff and I really enjoyed visiting with you all with R.E. He was a good man and always enjoyable to be with and very social. I loved talking Razorbacks with him, he was a big fan for sure.
