Doyle Richard Jones, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City, AR. He was born on November 9, 1938 in Concordia, KS to Richard Roland Jones and Fern Mildred Wells. Doyle lost his father at the age of 11 and after his passing, Doyle and his mother moved in with his Aunt Julia. His mother passed when he was 17 and at that time, he entered the United States Air Force. He served 20 years in the Air Force, which was during the Vietnam Era. He retired as a Master Sgt. Doyle met and married Alice Faye Ash in 1971 and they were married for 44 years until Alice passed away in April of 2015.
He instantly became a father to Mary Elizabeth Richardson, Bobby Wayne Richardson Jr. and Alice Gertrude Richardson. He welcomed his son, Rolan Floyd Jones, in July of 1972. He later adopted Gertrude as his daughter in 1974.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Mary Sutton (Barry ''Bubba'') of Gosnell, Bobby Richardson (Sherrill) of Vilonia, Gertrude Hicks (Kirk) of Jonesboro and Rolan Jones (Sandi) of Peyton, Colorado; his grandchildren, Chasity Faye Kelly Blalock (Daniel) of Mountain Home, Benjamin Joseph Sutton, Ashley Elizabeth Sutton of Blytheville, Windy Marie Richardson Mazurek (Jamey) of Bryant, Zachary Curtis Robertson of Jonesboro, Kyle Mikel Jones (Michaela) of Jonesboro and Caleb Hunter Jones of Newport News, Virginia; his great-grandchildren, Daniel Blalock Jr., Miranda Elizabeth Blalock, Romeo Derrell Wilson, Alycia Diamond McKinney, Makiara Terrese McKinney, Gracie May Mazurek, Grant Marshall Mazurek; his great-great-grandchildren, Amani Sutton and a great-great-grandson on the way, due in April.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 16, 2024 at The Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, AR with Bro. Don Martin officiating.
We would like to thank the associates, staff and residents of Monette Manor and Lakeside Nursing Center, for all their help, care and support over the past few years. Also, a thank you to a special caregiver, Judy Stevens.
Sorry for your loss. He was a sweet man and he will be missed at Monette Manor.
