He would help people that he saw in need of assistance even when off duty.Heaven's gain is Stone County's loss. I pray his family, coworkers, and friends feel God's presence as they deal with their grief.

My heart mourns for the family, close friends, & all those who closely walked the line of duty daily with Deputy Smith. Each time he placed that uniform upon him and pinned that badge on you prayed God would bring him back home. I know that prayer. I myself have prayed that prayer more times than I wish to recall. With much admiration I thank Deputy Smith for his courageous service for it takes Pride, Integrity, and Guts to be a Law Enforcement Officer. He left this world as a hero, and will not be forgotten.
